54-76mm Back orange with black dashes - Black dashes at top of wings with blue elongated eyes against a buff background

Habitat:

Woodland and wet meadows moist tall grasses - enjoys the wild woods above our house.

Notes:

Was successfuly compeating for territory with a zebra swallowtail on the cone flowers nearby

Nice photo, Mick. Great spotting. And the Norfolk Broads? Definitely cold, though not as cold as Lancashire! :D (My home before moving here to Portugal).

Thanks Julius and Sarah to answer you on the river at Ripley but my origin is from the cold Norfolk Broads (16 years resident in the US). First year out from under the corporate projects - enjoying this amazing facility and the interest from across the world.

Thanks Lars had to dash to back garden window to take the shot with my Canon powershot sx30 zoom at maximum (850mm) love image stabilization -leaning on window ledge for steady shot after my wife got excited - even though I was glued to the England - India game at Lords on BBC web,
