Carduelis Cannabina
Male has grey head and chestnut back, with a pink patch on forecrown and breast in breeding season. Male perches prominently to deliver his warbling song. Female is streaked grey-brown.
Common and widespread in Ireland. Linnets breed on gorse or bramble covered slopes and scrubby grassland.
