Jungle Babbler

Argya striata

Description:

Gray all over, mean-looking eyes (sorry!), yellow beak. EXTREMELY vocal. Very social. Usually in groups that forage together. This individual bird is one that I have seen grow up from a chick. I can recognize it because it has a peculiar constriction (sort of) around the back of its head ...it has had it ever since it first visited my terrace as a chick with its family.

Habitat:

My terrace. Urban residential area where it took a nice bath in the drinking water.
