L 25" W38". White plumage & red facial skin. Long decurved bill & reddish legs. Black tips on primaries, easily seen while in flight.
Coastal salt marshes, swamps & mangroves. Also found in coastal lagoons & croplands.
The first white ibis pictured was in a small colony near my in laws home. Picture 2 was at Myakka River State Park 11/10/10. Description obtained through personal copy of "National Geographic Field Guide to Birds-Florida"
