Green Citrus Locust

Melicodes tenebrosa

Description:

I am not sure if this is the species Melicodes tenebrosa or the subspecies Melicodes tenebrosa tenebrosa. However, my uncertainty regarding sp. or ssp. does not affect the fact that this Green Citrus Locust is endemic to the Philippines. According to https://www.jstor.org/stable/4064310... "The genus Melicodes it known only from the Philippines."

Habitat:

I spotted this locust in our backyard vegetable plot, on Okra ( Abelmoschus esculentus), sometimes called Ladies Fingers. Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.com/Okra.html
