Black Katy Chiton

Katharina tunicata

Description:

There were tons of these in the tide pools. A few had fallen off the rocks and laying on their backs like in the last photo. I am guessing they were knocked off by birds or other predators because they normally hold pretty firmly to the rocks.

Habitat:

Tide pools on a rocky beach
