I would definitely agree with that! At the minute I see the bee eaters on my way home from work, flocking as they get ready to migrate. Gonna be quiet around here without them.

Can't wait Yvette! And Dangermouse, yes they'll be in their summer plumage right now which is much richer :) They are so very adorable, in the winter I see these guys on the river near my house when I walk home from work! Such a great way to end the day :D

I was watching these near to where I live yesterday, the plummage is slightly different, but they are cute when they run and fly! Great spotting.

I have another picture where they are sharing seashore with seagulls. Pretty drastic difference in size. ;) I'll upload it now.

Sorry, I was trying to put a link to the RSPB page for the dunlin in the suggestion, but it didn't like it for some reason! Here's the page, if you want some info :) http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguid...

They were feasting in all the dead marine life that was washing on the shore! It was very cute watching them. They would run in when the sea pulled back and then run away when the waves were coming. Very cute, indeed!

Oooh these are dunlin! We have them in the UK too, and they only ever visit my area in the winter, so I definitely recognise these as dunlin in their winter plumage :) What a sweet photo, I have never seen so many together like that! Awesome pics
