I think this is a black-horned tree cricket but I'm not sure, looking for confirmation.

temperate forest

I spotted this on a goldenrod in Baden Powell park.

I'd have to agree with you on this one. From what i've researched, the black-horned tree cricket is found in Canada. There's a similar cricket (Tamarack tree cricket) but I can't find any spottings of it outside Michigan....
