Reddish Egret

Egretta rufescens

Description:

This Reddish Egret was spotted in the along the gulf coast of FL in the tropical south region. It was hunting in shallow salt water along a mangrove shoreline. While considered Near Threatened overall, the Reddish Egret is listed as Threatened in Texas and given even more protection there.

Habitat:

Coastal Waters. Central America, Caribbean, and North America mainly along the Gulf coast but also found along the Pacific coast of Mexico.
