Males have wings that are orange with black margins with white spots. Black veins. The underside is seen in pic 2. The female is more yellowish-orange. Wingspan 8.6-10.5 cm

Habitat:

Spotted nectaring on lantana at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas.
