Differential Grasshopper

Melanoplus differentialis

Description:

Family: Acrididae. Subfamily: Melanoplinae. Length: Females: 34-50 mm. Males: 28-37 mm. Brownish/greenish with yellow and black legs. Feeds on variety of plants and grasses such as Giant ragweed, sunflower and prickly lettuce. Can be a pest in great numbers.

Habitat:

Meadow with abundant plants
