Acacia leaf beetle

Peltoschema perplexa

Description:

This green leaf beetle is similar to the last, but smaller.

Habitat:

On a different, small leafed acacia in a nature reserve.

Notes:

I have seen an entirely brown specimen with these same patterns. Based on P. orphana and P. suturalis, which have green and brown forms, this seems to also have two color forms. It is possible that each species of peltoschema shows preference for different species of Acacia.

Thanks lori. It looks like the child of P. suturalis and P. orphana.
