Sylvia melanocephala
Adult male has black hood, white throat and red eye and eyerings; upperparts otherwise grey and underparts greyish-white. Female and juvenile similar to male but plumage duller. All birds have reddish legs.
Favours scrub patches and open woodland.
This fellar was taking water droplets from the irrigation sprinkler he's perched on, and using the water-laden leaves around the sprinkler to wash himself! (Last photo in the series).

Thanks, Nicole. :) I had to go and get my camera and hope he came back, which he did! He was fun to watch. Hmm, the notes on this spotting seem to have disappeared...I'll update that now.
