Description:

Small quail, rufous-brown above, rusty and buff below.Chin, throat and breast closely barred.The blue-grey bill and legs, and yellowish white eyes are diagnostic.usually seen singly occasionally in pairs or small groups.shy birds .

Habitat:

grassland,scrub,cultivation and open woodland.

i asked so because early morning, i hear very shrill call of a bird among agricultural fields which looks sort of like your spotting. Never got to take that one's pic, because that bird is pretty shy too and runs like crazy. One day if luck permits i shall get a clear pic and let you know....

never heard it ctsetan i was lucky enough to get it on cam ,
it is a very shy bird and flees off at the sight of humans
