I don't think it is because the Japanese Beetle has an all brown back that is shiny and the top is all brown and shiny but this has some green on the bottom and brown on the top and also it does not have the stripes

That looks almost like a Japanese Beetle. If its big, with a shiny green back and stinks when you hold it, its definitely the Japanese Beetle.
