Pyrrharctia isabella
The black ended woolly bear is famous due to folklore claiming the colored bands predict weather, and Dr Curran's experiments that attempted to prove folklore. In the fall they seek a place to overwinter. The isabella moth is a fairl non descript tiger moth with pale creme hindwings and amber upper wings spotted with creme spots/blotches
I find these on our gravel road. I brought this one up to my lawn to photograph it.

Thank you!
Nice capture Karen,
I love the "face" You can't imagine how many photos it took to get that(and I'd have taken even more but the ground was damp from recent rain and I had to go clean my lens)
Yes, I always enjoyed them as a girl in Indiana. Like your second picture best!
