Chlorophyllum rhacodes or C. brunneum
Creamy white mushrooms with light brown scales on cap getting darker at center. Stipe tan. Annulus present.
Growing in wood mulch at the Penn State Arboretum.
Thanks to AlexKonig for ID help.
in any doubts it is still a Chlorophyllum (previous macrolepiota) --> rhacodes {here written rachodes} var. bohemica , C rhacodes var hortensis or C. brunneum
Shaggy parasol is the common name for two closely related species of mushrooms, Chlorophyllum rhacodes and C. brunneum. i agree for the common Chlorophyllum rhacodes , but not for the C.rhacodes var bohemica ( other name for brunneum). and maybe its just discolorated like an orange/yellow amanita muscaria !!!
