Description:

Species is a large canopy tree (up to 40 m high) with straight cylindrical bole up to about 7m (can be slightly twisted, sometimes fluted near base, up to about 30 cm diameter.); buttresses present; Bark orange (fawnish) or red (pale pinkish), smooth. Compound pinnate leaves spaced along branches, spiral (leaves occurring singly at a node and arranged spirally up the branchlet). Bisexual flower inflorescence terminal (and subterminal) Fruits fleshy, simple.

Habitat:

This tree growing in a semi-urban large yard & garden next to a patch of disturbed remnant forest.

Notes:

Timber used in construction but not very durable. Readily attacked by insects within a year or two. Seasonal fruit very popular.
