Great Egret

Ardea alba

Description:

Big white bird with long, black legs and big yellow-orange beak.

Habitat:

A very large estuary off the Bay of All Saints. This bird is about two-thirds of the way across the estuary from where the water enters, and around the half-way mark is where the ground goes completely dry at low tide except for a few deep flows of water. There are many other birds, crabs and even some fish in these waters. Unfortunately, there is also run-off from a local town that drains into the estuary.
