Ruellia metallica
Very purple bloom sticking out of a thick mass of green leaves, so thick that it was hard to tell exactly where the stem of this flower led to.
This petunia was growing in the very wet, tree-covered part of the lower rim at the top of Volcan Mombacho. Tropical region at a cold, foggy altitude.

I think you're right @auntnance123 - I think the metallica looks pretty close.
I think it's a type of ruellia.
I wish I knew what this was but it's not an orchid.
