Eastern glass lizard

Ophisaurus ventralis

Description:

An eastern glass lizard, roughly a foot long. I found this guy poking out of some tall grass near a marsh area. It stayed perfectly still for a while, even allowing us to pick it up without detaching its tail, before taking off at an incredible speed.

Habitat:

Tall grass near marsh.
