Description:

It is a tanager from South America. The male is bright yellow with an orange crown which distinguishes it from other yellow finches in the continent.

Habitat:

Inhabits open and semi-open areas in lowlands outside the Amazon Basin.

Safron finchs (canário-da-terra in portuguese) are one of my favorite birds. They are just wonderful when the sun makes their feathers shine like gold
