Neochmia temporalis (Emblema temporalis)
The Red-browed Finch has bright red eyebrow, rump and beak, green/grey body feathers. Upperparts are olive green, grey underneath body. Male and female are similar. Often seen in small flocks, which feed on the grass seeds. They fly into dense undergrowth when disturbed. Also called Red-browed Firetails.
Grassy areas, dense undergrowth. Ranges throughout eastern coastal region and inland to some extent.
