@jazz.mann ...Sorry, not an expert on anything...a generalist you may say. Yes, egret legs and feet are good for ID-ing but if obscured I would be stumped too.

let me know if you have expertise on different egrets in South Asia, as I have a few that I am not sure if they are intermediate or little egrets (the feet are obscured which is the easy way to tell)

happy to help. some credit goes to the Merlin and Google lens A/I apps, but I do have to download the photo on my computer, then upload it to Google photos, and then go to my phone to use the apps on the photos, so it does take some effort, LOL.
