Promethea Silk Moth Cocoon

Description:

Larger cocoon on the same tree/bush as previous smaller cocoon. Made from natural materials. Over 3 inches long.

Habitat:

Woodlands in the Poconos.

Notes:

A female Promethea Silk Moth emerged months later.

That's awesome. You might be able to find out via what kind of tree/bush they are in - assuming they use their food tree

WOW! I found 6 of them; one almost 4 inches. They are all nearly identical, but range from 2 inches to 4 inches. Unsure which are most common in PA.
