Anthus rufulus
This is a large pipit at 15cm, but is otherwise an undistinguished looking bird, mainly streaked grey-brown above and pale below with breast streaking. It has long legs and tail and a long dark bill. Sexes are similar, but juveniles have warmer brown upperparts. It builds its nest on the ground. Like other pipits, this species is insectivorous.
It is found in open habitats, especially short grassland and cultivation.

This looks very much like my spotting, indeed very difficult to spot and differentiate. I shall upload more pics soon.
very true satyen they are indeed difficult to spot on ground..
They do stop after every 2-3 steps but it is difficult to spot them in the sand/stone background.
Thanks Anjali, Doina, Sachin
if u notice there is a dark patch behind the bird ,i had to wait till it stepped out of that shadow and then click ,
its pretty easy to capture these birds because after every 2 to 3 steps they pause and look up .
