Caterpillar feeding on Citrus Leaves, These are the instars I got of the little critter. Pretty sure it's a Papilionoidae caterpillar. I saw it stick out it's osmeterium when I was looking and touching it.
Mainly on Citrus plants since they eat Citrus leaves. I found this one on my rooftop feeding on a Citrus mitis plant. Our house is also located in the middle of the city.
The first picture shows it on a defensive(?) stance, I was trying to make it's osmeterium stick out, but failed x3 The second is an early instar of the caterpillar and the next pictures shows it feeding on the C. mitis leaves. The last one is its Pupae. It's sad though. because I saw a lot of them with holes and ants eating them.... Happy New Year Peepz~! :D
Hi Little Rex. Pls consider joining the Butterflies in the Philippines mission - http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1555..., and include this lovely Common Lime catterpillar. Would appreciate also if you could update the ID of your spottings. Regards!!
