Description:

A striking colored parasite bee species which hosts on Macropis bees. Since Macropis are plant specific bees for Lysimachia plants ( in peticular L. vulgaris) this Epeoloides coecutiens also (indirectly) depens on the presence of Lysimachia plants . Depsite it's striking color this wild bee is very rare in Belgium and aonly about 20 animals are recorded in our national observations database per year ( the database holds millions of transactions per year).
