Budgerigar

Melopsittacus undulatus

Description:

A small parrot, often kept as house pets. Can come in different patterns in domestication. The pets in the photos are lime green, with a darker green underbelly and stripes, and blue with a white head. Both have black speckles. This species is capable of imitating human speech.

Notes:

Not the wildtype, domesticated strains.

They can say entire sentences, the ones that learn to talk, is amazing!... Do yours talk? the green is a male and the blue is a female (or a very young one), are they a couple?

These little birds are not really tropical but come from the dry grasslands at the edge of Australias deserts. Here's the link in Wikipedia...
