Southern leopard frog

Lithobates sphenocephalus utricularius

Description:

It has a continuous dorsolateral fold that extends from the eye to the thigh. The dorsal color is brown with some green, and it usually lacks a dark blotch or spot on the snout. The snout is pointed and the skin is relatively smooth. The belly is pale. (information from "A Field Guide to Oklahoma's Amphibians and Reptiles")

Habitat:

Lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, swamps, and sloughs

Notes:

One of the most common frogs in eastern Oklahoma.
