Crested Pigeon

Ocyphaps lophotes

Description:

The Crested Pigeon has a bluey-grey breast and dusty pink wings with black stripes that run vertically across them, but the part that you would remember about them is the black 'Crest' atop their head as their are only two species of pigeons ( the other is the Spinifex Pigeon) in Australia with a crest on their head. It is native to Australia.

Habitat:

You will find the Crested Pigeon in lightly wooded areas that are either rural or urban.

Notes:

If you are looking for info on Australian birds then I suggest that you go to birdsinbackyards.net as it has a wide range of info on a lot of birds in Australia.

No species ID suggestions
