Neoconocephalus robustus
Mostly associated with tall course grass in Prairies, open old fields, roadsides, river bottoms, coastal dunes, etc. Also fond of corn and Sorghum fields.
This was such a fun insect. Whenever I would approach or touch her while she was on the grass, she would thrust her head down into the turf (see photo #2). This would leave her backside up and make her body appear to be a blade of grass. She did this repeatedly, so I figured it was a camouflage tactic.

@ Goody ,this is an excellent spotting!! Picture number 2 is sweet and hilarious and a fine example of survival tactic.
I hope that people will not miss out on this one!.
