Ardea alba
In breeding plumage, delicate ornamental feathers are borne on the back. It was real treat for me to see these feathers blowing in the wind. Such an elegant bird!! This Egret must have eaten atleast 5 cray fish while I was watching it.It's beak had groove and looked like an unfolding umbrella.
The Great Egret is depicted on the reverse side of a 5-Brazilian reais banknote. White Egrets is the title of Saint Lucian Poet Derek Walcott's fourteenth collection of poems. The Great Egret is the symbol of the National Audubon Society.

It is picture number 2 in this.
I saw your pond pic. I liked your muscovy hybrid very much. Great hairstyle!!
However i feel that you are taking up to much alone . Like i said that it is a catch 22 situation. The birds should not be fed. But,what will happen to them if they are not fed?
Besides the right kind of food might be expensive for the local people/ You certainly need a wild life center to help you. Here the ponds are fortified with nutrients and so it might be OK not to feed the birds.
Very noble of you to take up this challenging task. Good Luck!
@Emma i cant find the other spott of the egret eating:-/
i load the photos of the local pond confusion and some of the place in my last spotts
okay ,i'am a slowy computer nerd:-)
@ Antonio, I combined the two. Technically we can not create to spottings with same bird.
