Jumping Spider

Phidippus adumbratus

Description:

Furry spider with orange abdomen and striped legs. No orange on the carapace. Found 4 males at this location. The chelicerae are not visible due to the dense, fuzzy mustache.

Habitat:

On various outdoor furniture in a grassy backyard. One was found hidden in a decorative pinecone. This species is native to and commonly found in California.

Notes:

Showed a curious interested in me - one jumped on me when I was taking his pic.
