Blue-black Spider Wasp

Anoplius sp.

Habitat:

field

Notes:

First, I saw the wasp running around the ground and I was trying to take a pic. Suddenly there was a scuffle and I noticed the wasp had killed a spider (pic 2). It then dragged it about 2 feet (pics 3) and deposited it on top of a small plant(pic 4 -spider is on the right). The wasp then started looking for and clearing a whole in the dirt.
