In pic 1 the broad leafy-looking gall with ridges is the female gall and arising from its base is a cluster of thin cylindrical male galls with apical openings.
Pic 3 shows another gall of the same species spotted on a neighbouring branch with fewer male galls growing on broad blades of the female gall..
Spotted on a eucalyptus gum - species yet to be identified. The tree was growing along a storm drain/gully.
