Thanks Rat! It was the first time I saw them like this as well. I think that the green colour came from the trees. There was this green dust coming of of the trees that coverd everything.

I've found a lot of these and none of them have looked green like this also I've not seen them opened up like that with three seperate holes. I like your photos!

It's rather common that they have this color, You could Google the image and see.

Normaly it's more creamy, the green comes from algae.
