Fork-tailed Flycatcher

Tyrannus savana

Description:

Black white and gray with a long tail.

Habitat:

A pretty rare find in Florida and a lifer for me. Pastures low shrubbery. This bird was hanging out on fences and shrubs near a small lake & next to a strawberry farm.

Notes:

The fork-tailed flycatcher has the longest tail relative to body size of any bird on earth. Wikipedia

Nice spotting! I heard reports on this guy. Alice, if you would like to see him, he's been continuing in the same location for a few days now.

I was going to ask " Where have you been?" How wonderful for you, I did not know they could be in our area!
