(Male) Western Bluebird

Description:

Male blue bird with gray belly and red on breast and top of wings. They can be distinguished from other Bluebirds as follows: The Western Bluebird which has a blue throat, the Eastern Bluebird has an orange throat, and the Mountain Bluebird lacks orange color anywhere on its body. Habitat:

Near and on California Pepper Tree at Lake Dixon park.

Notes:

They compete with Starlings and Swallows for nesting sites such as nest boxes or cavities.
