Bird's Nest Fungus

Cyathus olla

Description:

I didn't get a measurement for these little mushrooms, but there were several growing on each woodchip, the woodchips being about 1" long. The outside of the mushroom seemed pretty dry, and I don't remember it being hairy or scaly.

Habitat:

I found these little guys growing on some woodchips/mulch in a flowerbed. I didn't see any other mushrooms growing nearby, and the trees nearby are mostly pine and oak, although I'm not sure where the woodchips came from. It was humid and warm where they were growing.

Notes:

I think I've ID'ed this one correctly, but this was only based off of information I found online, since I don't know much about mushrooms.
