Project Noah Fact of the Day: If you ever brush up against a bearded fireworm you will immediately understand how they got their name. These venomous marine creatures have many hairlike bristles that can inflict a painful sting when touched. They can be found on reefs, under stones in rocky areas of the sea, and on some mud bottoms. They occur throughout the tropical western Atlantic and at Ascension Island in the mid-Atlantic.
