Yellowdot Sweetlips (juvenile)

Description:

Also known as Silver Sweetlips, Painted Sweetlips, Painted Thicklip, Slatey Sweetlip and Slatey Bream. Juvenile sweetlips are solitary fish. They swim with a strange side-to-side motion and are found in sandy areas among debris and rocky outcrops. They feed on fish and benthic crustaceans, and are about 25cm in length.

Habitat:

Found singly or in small groups on sandy bottoms of lagoons and coastal reefs, at depths of 5 to 40m. Widespread in the Indo-West Pacific region.
