Red-wattled Lapwing

Vanellus indicus

Description:

The characteristic black head, neck and chest can be seen along with the brown wings. Also note the red eyes and long yellow legs.

Habitat:

These birds are found mostly near water, in isolated pairs as far as I have seen.

Notes:

These birds were very patient and stood still for more than half an hour as I waited and waited to capture them in a different pose. Alas, I had to return due to bad light.
