Definitely an immature Yellow-crowned. Black-crowned is stockier and has a bicolored bill.

anyway it's Immature of Yellow crowned Night Heron, the Black crowned has more fine bill then Yellow ...!

American Bittern or Bittern in generally, never can have this posture, the bill is more fin and long, but this one he seems have staight Posture, and the bill is more strong !
