Paraserianthes lophantha
Flat brown pods with regular rounded bulges on the sides. each bulge encloses a black seed. The pods are about 6in long and start of green as all other pods. These are seed pods of the cape wattle, native to West Australia. The flowers are lime green.
Has been introduced to Victoria where it is highly invasive.
The dried seed pods are much prettier than the green pods as they contrast with the evergreen leaves. This photo was taken for the "seeds mission" - the neatly arranged concave beds that contained the seeds are smooth and attractive.
