Paropsisterna aegrota is very similar to
Paropsis lutea
I found another specimen today (pic#6) showing that each has slightly different dot patterns.
Yes Maria. I have started a mission for Chrysomelidae but they can only be local and not global missions. There are only few followers in this small corner of the world so I expanded it to include all coleoptera. I would love to see your photos. http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8198...
Martin, actually who loves tortoise beetles am I. I made the suggestion through my wife's account, sorry. But I still think that it would be a good idea.
Martin, I love tortoise beetles too. Have you considered to start a mission about them? I could contribute with half a dozen spots...
This is my first spotting of this beetle, common in Tasmania, I'm told. It was overcast when spotted in the gums so it came home for a photo shoot in my sunny citrus garden.
Yes argybee, i'm getting (have got) rather obsessed with these beetles. I saw one last month in Micham http://www.flickr.com/photos/ogcodes/535... and it flew off without a photo. I'm rather upset.
Great show Martin...!!
I miss your story here... Like to read it in Description than in comments..
Superb Series!!
Super shots martin.
This one is such a cutie that you let him try out the lemon tree :)
Only 685 more species to go.
I've added a better shot of this beetle
