It was appearing like different stages of growth/development - adult clusters on 1st, medium stage at 2nd, juvenile on 3rd - all appear to go with a symbiosis with an alga

maybe, but : the one the leaf seems to have teeth/spikes/ the 3th is very flat,bulty but smooth patch/ and the 1st looks fluffy pillows. I dont know about this complet spotting (maybe just need to see it myself!! {not possble}).
