Pipevine Swallowtail

Description:

Pipevine Swallowtails are one of several swallowtail species in my area. Male butterflies are black with iridescent blue across the hind wings. Females have a larger white markings on their wins

Habitat:

I have Woolly Pipevine, Aristolochia tomentosa, on an arbor in my yard. This pipeline is native and occurs in the wild areas of Denton, Texas.
