Eudynamys orientalis
This female Eastern Koel was being attacked by a large number of noisy miners and noisy friarbirds, and doing some research I can understand why! Eastern Koels are a brood parasite - they lay eggs in the nests of other birds, and when the chick hatches it forces out the original eggs/chicks and gets 'fostered'. This is the first time I have seen an Eastern Koel, they are quite shy birds.
