Volvariella speciosa
It is an edible mushroom about 5 -15 cm big. Coloration may vary from white to cream, grey to beige, while spores are pink. Cape shape is conical or nearly so. It has distinct or odd smell (non mushroomy).
Habitat on well-manured groud, compost heaps and rotting straw. Season summer to autumn. Occasional. Edible but care should be taken in identification to avoid confusion with the deadly white-spored Amanitas; although the latter have rings, these may become detached. Distribution: Europe and America.
